Just now I was surprised with a dozen roses from the school across the street from my cafe. I’d invited them to participate in our big Marina Day swap meet/chowder cookoff last weekend. They raised more money than they’d thought they would for their nonprofit centres. They deal primarily with kids with autism and other developmental issues, and they raised so much more money, that each of their schools will receive a hefty art and school supply budget, as well as bursaries for a couple of their kids who were going to be unable to pay for their summer sessions..
Total. Tears.
